Process

To begin, I identified the need for a centralized repository for all existing training resources. This necessity came to light after I discovered several duplicates and outdated training materials, which resulted from a lack of awareness about the existing resources.

To rectify this issue, I developed an organized LMS library. This involved a systematic classification of all the training resources, which facilitated easy access and future referencing. This enabled the instructional design team to better understand the specific modules and avoid duplications.

Next, I initiated a proactive approach to update outdated trainings. I reached out to relevant stakeholders, obtained their insights and guidance, and updated the trainings accordingly.

I then established a regular check-in system to ensure the relevancy and effectiveness of our company training materials. This not only helped in keeping our training modules current but also underscored the need for regular updates and quality checks to maintain high-standard learning resources through iterative improvements.

In the end, this initiative not only optimized the use of existing training resources but also streamlined the entire training process, reducing redundancy and improving our team's efficiency and productivity.

New & Improved LMS Repository

The LMS repository offers a central hub for all training materials. This showcases how each training module is systematically categorized, resulting in improved accessibility and efficiency. By categorizing and centralizing training materials, the improved repository now ensures easy access, avoids duplication, and maintains content relevancy.

The fully searchable nature of this repository enhances usability and the system reflects my proactive approach to LMS management.

Previous LMS Repository

The previous iteration of the LMS repository was characterized by redundancy and a lack of clarity. Training materials were scattered and not systematically organized, leading to challenges in accessibility and relevancy.

Duplication and outdated content were regular issues that hindered the productivity and accuracy of the instructional design process.

Reflection

The creation and implementation of the LMS repository resulted in several significant learnings:

  • LMS Administration: This project enabled me to dive deeper into the intricacies of LMS administration. Building an organized and centralized training inventory stretched my skills and understanding of efficient resource management within the LMS.

  • Team Efficiency: The initiative underscored the impact of structured organization on team productivity. It validated my belief in the potential of a well-structured system to minimize redundancy and streamline processes, something I'll continue to advocate for in team environments.

  • Stakeholder Communication: The process of updating outdated trainings reinforced the value of open dialogue with stakeholders. Their insights were invaluable in refining the trainings, and I look forward to fostering these relationships further in future projects.

  • Monitoring and Improvement: Seeing tangible results from the repository system was a rewarding experience. Moving ahead, I aim to continuously monitor and refine this system based on usage patterns, feedback, and evolving training needs.
